Jesmond Community Forum
Jesmond Community Forum was established in 2004 to celebrate, promote and support the work of community, residents’ and voluntary groups in Jesmond.
About Us
The forum provides an opportunity for groups to work together, offer mutual support, swap information, and monitor progress on issues of common interest. Issues discussed at bi-monthly open meetings have included
- Obtaining publicity for events and activities;
- Community Notice Boards;
- Funding;
- Attracting Members;
- Organising meetings and events;
- Liaison with the Council.
Since 2005 the forum has coordinated annual Jesmond Community Festivals, drawing together a huge variety of events organised by member organisations into a single festival programme. Each festival has been more successful than its predecessor. Even during the pandemic, in 2020 and 2021, it was possible to hold a number of “live” and online festival events, and since then, the festival has continued to flourish.
Member organisations include most of the schools and churches in Jesmond, residents’ associations, choirs and music groups, sports organisations, and groups promoting the interests of young people and the elderly.
We would welcome further member organisations. For more information contact the JCF at forum@jesmond.uk.net

Photography Competition 2026
Some of the entries to our recent Photographic Competitions are shown below.
In 2026 we’re looking for your images on Instagram at #imagesofjesmond . We are considering publishing the images which we think captures the essence of life in Jesmond later in the year, perhaps in a calendar, or perhaps in a photo book.
